Prerequisites
LMO 4 Viscera and LMO 5 Cardiovascular system
3 day course
Objectives:
Update the basic tests of the visceral system and the vascular system and complete the general examination with new tests.
Present original dissections that will allow for a better approach of the viscera and the vascular system.
Improve the Mechanical Link diagnostic and treatment technique with a combined approach to the different lesions found.
Develop new clinical applications specific to the visceral system, the vascular system and the autonomic nervous system.
Practice:
Basic tests of the visceral system with new tests: heart, round ligament, diaphragm, perineum, etc.
Basic tests of the vascular system with new tests: the venous system, the lymphatic system, the arteries of the cranium and the encephalon.
Clinical applications:
The pregnant woman (care during pregnancy, preparation to delivery and post-partum), vascular pathologies (venous and lymphatic issues), dysfunctions of the autonomic nervous system, imbalances linked to latent metabolic acidosis, chronic fatigue, etc.
Program:
Day 1
Morning (9AM – 1PM):
Examination of the abdominal viscera: update of the basic tests of the abdominal viscera and integration of new tests.
Clinical applications: gastric, hepatic, intestinal, renal and urinary, gynecological functional pathologies, etc.
Afternoon (2:30PM-6:30PM):
Examination of the thoracic viscera: update of the basic tests of the organs of the thorax and integration of new tests (heart, diaphragm).
Clinical applications: cardiovascular and respiratory functional pathologies.
Day 2
Morning (9AM – 1PM):
Examination of abdominal and thoracic vascular system: update of the basic tests of the arteries and integration of new tests (venous system and lymphatic system).
Clinical applications: miscellaneous vascular issues, autonomic dysfunctions, etc.
Afternoon (2:30PM-6:30PM):
Examination of the arteries of the encephalon: evaluation of the ophthalmic artery, the anterior, middle and posterior cerebral arteries, the hypothalamopituitary arteries and the basilar trunk arteries.
Clinical applications: functional pathologies of the central nervous system, sequelae of concussions, sequelae of cerebral vascular accidents, Parkinson, etc.
Day 3
Morning (9AM – 1PM):
Examination of the perineum: evaluation and treatment of the perineum with new tests (of ligaments, tendons and muscles), combined abdominal approach with external approach of the perineum.
Clinical applications: lumbopelvic dysfunctions, pregnancy, post-partum, diastasis recti, urinary issues, sequelae of surgery, etc.
Afternoon (2:30PM-5PM):
Summary: integration and practice of the tests of the visceral system and vascular system in the general osteopathic examination.
