Diagnosis

The Osteopathic Mechanical Link diagnosis is based on a thorough manual examination of the different structures of the body : bones, articulations, organs, muscles and ligaments, nerves, arteries…

Tissue restrictions are found without any mobilisation, using pressure or traction tests on key points of the body.  These tests are applied to the entire body, including every system, using a protocol that is very precise, rigorous, as well as reproducible.

The Mechanical Link method presents a list of these tests and teaches how to apply them.

Using an original methodology, the practitioner prioritises all the restrictions found, by comparing them two by two to determine which one presents the greatest tissue resistance on palpation.  This test, which is original and distinctive to Mechanical Link, is called the "inhibitory balance test".

From lesion to lesion, it then becomes possible to identify the cause (primary osteopathic lesion) which may have caused or maintained the complaint.  Indeed, the origin often has been "forgotten" by the patient. The cause of a problem may be distant, in terms of time or space, from the symptoms that have warranted a consultation.  This prioritisation gives us the starting point of the osteopathic treatment !
